Michael Criddle, CPA, Partner

Mike has more than 17 years of experience working in tax with an emphasis in international taxation specifically as it relates to individuals. This includes expertise related to the compliance requirements related to foreign persons with US trusts or US administered trusts.  Mike’s experience includes both US citizens (and green card holders) working abroad, and foreign individuals working in the United States, as well as the various reporting obligations stemming from these situations.

Mike regularly participates in a HLB International Private Wealth Transfer Small Group where attendees explore trusts and estates issues as well as other wealth transition issues that exist from a European perspective. He has presented at two HLB International conferences: One in the Netherlands presenting on US trust law as it relates to Non US persons to set-up and protect their wealth and the other in Dublin on managing wealth in multiple tax jurisdictions.  He recently presented to the trust community in Sioux Falls, SD on the international informational reporting requirements for both US trusts and US administered foreign trusts.

Mike also has specialized knowledge on various voluntary disclosure programs available to US taxpayer's with undisclosed accounts. Along with helping expatriates and inpatriates comply and understand trust issues, Mike works with partnerships, S corporations, corporations, individuals, and non-profit tax.

Mike is a sought after professional with specific expertise in the international tax market. He has authored articles for the Utah CPA Magazine, which was republished in other markets.  And, was recently recognized as a Top 40 Under 40 by the Utah Business Magazine for is international trust expertise.  He is located in the Eide Bailly Salt Lake City, UT office.
