Prior to joining the Division Bret worked on the legal staff at the Department of Revenue and Regulation on a variety of tax and compliance issues.　 Bret is a graduate of Northern State University with a degree in political science and business, a graduate of the University of South Dakota School of Law, and holds a certification as a Fiduciary and Investment Risk Specialist (CFIRS) from the CANNON Financial Institute.　 He and his wife, Melissa, live in Pierre with their three boys.　　\n
